The Alberta Criminal Justice Association (ACJA) is a provincial affiliate of the Canadian Criminal Justice Association (CCJA). The Canadian Criminal Justice Association was founded in 1919 and is an independent national voluntary organization working for an improved justice system in Canada. While ACJA is an autonomous organization with policies and directions dictated by local membership, both organizations exist to promote rational, informed, and responsible debate in order to develop a more humane, equitable, and effective justice system.
